Sorry for the no go post yesterday.
I was out all day with my architect extraordinaire sourcing windows for the basement and some storage goodness from IKEA.
Yesterday was a big day on the reno front because demo started.
i.e. very frightening.
We've actually already hit a hitch...this hallway wall...
...is/was slated to be moved out a couple of feet to make room for the laundry room, a larger bathroom and more space in the office/bedroom...
Sadly, it looks like it might be load bearing and well, I'm not sure what that means for the layout now...will keep you posted.

In the meantime, I thought I'd share a few new inspirations.

...built ins and lots of black lacquer...also very much enjoying the gold door fronts shown above.
2. The rest of the space is going to be done in white with tons of molding so that it looks sort of like an old Parisian apartment...the tension will come with tons of modern furniture.
...a Barcelona like daybed...
...and this amazing rug...
...all from my favezies shop, Black Rooster.
I've also decided on some IKEA Pax action for the hallway...
...that will mix right in with some custom built ins that are a bit more ornate.
I'm hoping to also score some architectural salvage this weekend to balance it all out.
Would love, love, love a giant old display cabinet and some steel windows to use as sliding doors.
Crossing fingers that all of the above actually translates from my brain to reality...in budget I might add...oh and before baby arrives;)
Prayers please.
xo

you are amazing! When I was that prego last year, I was barely able to move my fat, edematous feet. I can't wait to see this all come together. Does this mean no go on building a house?
Wohoo! It's always super exciting to hit the entry stages of a project and the reality that it's actually going to happen. I love that you're sharing it with us right away and not waiting weeks to post updates, like some other blogs I visit. It's all going to be super fab, I just know it!
Much Love,
Trissta
Can't wait to see it all!
Even if your plans for that space only work out 50%, it will be beyond gorgeous. Those office inspiration shots? So fantastic. As is everything you have planned for the main area (the Parisian-like molding??? I die).
This all looks like perfection. I have always wanted a gentlemans room! Something for the hubby in my all white world. Keep us posted because I can't wait to see the outcome.
So excited to have some of our items included in your new basement! XOXO!

Howdy neighbour! Adore what you are doing on the home front. Your style is exquisite! I just ordered a french bulldog pillow from Black Rooster (to match my dog). I LOVE the pieces you are getting from them. Fabulous!!
So happy to meet another blogger in the 'hood. Will send prayers your way that the basement goes according to plan.

Awesome plan Christine! I always love the products you choose. Good luck pulling it altogether and finding those 'special' pieces!
